Sean came home from school on Friday with a library book for Nolan called Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale (Bccb Blue Ribbon Picture Book Awards (Awards)). He read it to him on the glider in the play room, with Nolan barely on the chair beside him, but thrilled to have been the focus of Sean’s precious library pick.
I loved hearing Sean point out to Nolie how the illustrations combine photography and drawings: “Do you see how the backgrounds are all real but the people and what they are holding are cartoons?”
Our house is in that post-holiday state of limbo, with random empty spots and gifts that haven’t found a home yet. I love the blank spots after the over-abundance of holiday decorations. My head feels a bit of limbo too---caught between wrapping up 2012 and preparing for the year ahead.
This post is part of Rebecca Cooper’s Simple Things Sunday series, which she describes as “taking the time to photograph the everyday details…to enjoy the beauty in the ordinary and to be reminded of just how important the simple things are.”
